The Shining Star MADA is awarded to an individual who has displayed outstanding dedication or has been responsible for outstanding accomplishments of local significance in the field of multiple births in a local community in Canada. One Shining Star award will be given out to each MBC Chapter annually.

The winner of the 2023 Shining Star award for the Calgary Chapter – Twins, Triplets and More Association of Calgary – TTMAC is Carmen Morrison.

Carmen is the office administrator for the TTMAC Office and is a Member of TTMAC.

Before becoming the Office administrator, she was on the TTMAC Board of directors for many MANY years. 

Carmen started the Welcome & Support Committee as she thought it would have been nice to have had a member visit while she was expecting multiples, so she put the entire initiative together, recruited volunteers, and put together an information package and even secured free samples of pampers to include. 

She joined the Board as Secretary for 1 or 2 years and then became president for 2 years and then past president for 1 year. 

She also helped revamp the Children's Emergency Fund and organize that for years.
