2018 Local Award
Ginger Bowes
The LOCAL Making A Difference Award is presented to an individual who has displayed outstanding dedication or has been responsible for outstanding accomplishments of local significance in multiple births issues within Canada.
The winner of the 2018 LOCAL award is Ginger Bowes.
This year's award recipient has been making a difference in the lives of TTMAC members since 2010. Firstly, in her capacity as Party Planner, then Sales Team Member, and for the past 4 years as Board Member. As Secretary, President, and most recently Past President, she has shown with her creativity, energy, and devotion to all things TTMAC that she is “Not Just Another Mom of Twins” and inspired others to join the board as well.
She has inspired great change in the operations of TTMAC. She has been instrumental in creating the current board structure, created an entire Policies & Procedures Manual for future boards to use as guidance, sourced innovative fundraising ideas, built excitement in TTMAC’s volunteers and overall, positively impacted TTMAC members.
One of Ginger's friends sent this message to us:
"From the time I showed up at your house with eight Kris Kringle gifts instead of one, to the time you sang Wannabe by the Spice Girls at Starbucks and documented the whole thing on Facebook, there have been many laughs along the way. While we may personally disagree on many topics and can be unbending in our opinions, eventually we get back in the saddle and always agree on one thing: putting the interests of the membership first”.
Robert Joseph Dole once said:
When it's all over, it's not who you were. . . it's whether you made a difference.
